The first in a season-long series of gardening and cooking workshops!
While the cold winds of March still howl outside, we'll be sipping warm cider, dreaming of warmth and sunshine, and planning our spring gardens. Our Kitchen Garden Guru, Kate Douthat, will help you plan your own organic garden for 2015. Kate will share her pro tips for planning a garden that fits your needs and she'll consider your space, time, commitment, and personal preferences, as well as seasonal rhythms and crop-specific constraints. There will be a range of her favorite organic gardening books and catalogs on hand, as well as basic drafting tools so you can to learn about both gardening resources, and the basics of drawing a scale plan to work from. You will leave with your person plan well underway, and a head full of garden dreams!
You'll also leave with a full belly! Ian and Shelly will ply you with warm drinks, then make hearty, late winter comfort food.
PLUS! We'll send you home with lots of seeds so you can start to get excited!
*It is important that we get our young friends growing their own food early-on, so, as with all our kitchen garden workshops, kids come for 5 bucks! (Let us know if you're bringing them and how many via email.)
