The summer harvest is here in a big way. In this garden and kitchen workshop, we will be harvesting our bounty. There will be peppers, tomatoes, greens, and garlic! We will learn how to harvest all sorts of different crops, from roots, to shoots, to leaves, to fruits. We will take these crops through the magical transformation from plant to delicious prepared food from harvest, to washing, to chopping, to cooking. Everything will be growing like crazy-including the weeds! You will also help us to weed, stake the garden. We will turn our compost heap, and discuss the why and hows of composting, and different methods that might work for you at home.
Ian and Shelley will ply you with refreshing garden-inspired drinks and lead you through the best techniques for cooking the freshest veggies!
*It is important that we get our young friends growing their own food early-on, so, as with all our kitchen garden workshops, kids come for 5 bucks! (Let us know if you're bringing them and how many via email.)
